A woman was in her bed at her apartment when she was bitten in the hand by a 3-foot long boa constrictor as she reached for her alarm clock. The woman went to the hospital and returned home when released to find the snake under her bed. It is unclear how the snake got into her apartment. None of her immediate neighbors claimed the snake. The snake was taken to Napa County’s Animals Shelter.

An 8-foot long red-tail boa constrictor escaped from a residents home and hasn’t been sighted. This is the second escape for this snake. She was missing for a month in the previous escape.

A mountain lion was confiscated from a home. The owners brought the mountain lion home knowing it was against city ordinance. The lion was taken to the Cedar Cove Feline Conservatory in Kansas.

A 12 to 14-foot long Burmese python, believed to be a former pet, was found coiled inside a valve cover box located at Marco Island’s Waste Water Treatment plant. Florida is experiencing problems with the non-native species. The snake will be checked for a microchip, but will be euthanized if no owner is found.

An 8-foot Columbian red-tail boa is on the loose in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The owner reported it missing to the police.

According to a citation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, zookeepers transported two unweaned 3-day-old
infant tigers from Oklahoma to the zoo, and the infant tigers died within two days.

A 6-foot emu was found on a residential property. Authorities do not know where the bird came from.

A volunteer for the Arkansas Wildlife Rehabilitators had her mountain lion confiscated who she was keeping in her back yard.

A man is in custody after a tiger, two mountain lions, three bobcats, two lynx, a serval, and two skunks were found in negligent conditions. The man became combative during the seizure and authorities found methamphetamines on the property. All of the seized animals found homes in sanctuaries in Texas, Florida and Kansas.

According to a citation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, zookeepers failed to provide veterinary care to a tiger (Baxter) who was exhibiting a pronounced limp in his right hind leg. That leg was visibly swollen and non-weight-bearing, resulting in Baxter walking in a hopping manner and then falling to the ground.
