Presley

Presley was rescued from a squalid roadside zoo in late 2019 and came to live at the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary in March 2020. She arrived with her father, Marlin, and her half-sister, Violet, and was able to experience life outside of a small, dark cage for the first time in her life.

Presley is the lowest-ranking member of her small troop of three and is of a nervous disposition. When she, Marlin, and Violet first arrived and were out and about in their large enclosure, if her family members strayed too far away from her, she would call them back with a short, sharp scream or run to find them. As her confidence has grown, her fear has diminished, and she is now far bolder than she was before. Despite being low-ranking, her companions look out for her and continue to respond when she calls if her nerves still get the better of her. She can always rely on them to have her back. Violet, in particular, will come and tell caretakers off with a stern "threat face" if Presley is feeling nervous.

Presley enjoys spending time grooming with her baboon friend, Kaleb, who lives in the adjacent enclosure.

You can support Presley on her journey of recovery by adopting her today. Your support will help to provide lifelong care to her and her friends.

If you adopt Presley, consider also adopting her half-sister, Violet, or her father, Marlin.
