Polar bears are crucial apex predators that play an important role in their ecosystem. They are both the largest living bear and the largest living land predator. However, this iconic species is under threat from climate change, habitat depletion, human wildlife conflict, captivity, and trophy hunting. They are now considered Vulnerable by the IUCN. These iconic bears need help to cope with their shrinking habitat, disappearing food sources, and persecution by humans.
