A man found his cat, Scruffy, hiding under a deck in front of his house with a leg-hold trap caught on his right, front leg. The leg had to be amputatetd. CA Fish & Wildlife officials are trying to trace the owner of the illegal trap. If found, the person may face animal cruelty or abuse charges.

A pet cat was found with a foot-hold trap clamped around her leg. The cat was taken to a veterinarian and is expected to make a full recovery.

A rare and secretive Canadian lynx was unintentionally caught in a trap. The Canadian lynx is listed as threatened under the ESA. The lynx will be fitted with a satellite tracking collar and released.

A 4-year old black lab named Billi was killed after getting caught in a conibear trap baited to catch bobcats. The trap was set on a state endowment land. The trapper was not in violation.

A dog was caught in a trap set illegally on the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Kodiak, Alaska. The dog was able to be released. It is illegal to set any traps within the base.
