Summary:

SANDUSKY, OH – This marks the third animal escape in the last year for Cedar Point- first camels, then goats, and now alpacas. Three alpacas escaped The Barnyard during a routine cleaning on May 9. PETA said they will call on federal officials to investigate the zoo again after three alpacas “broke loose and bolted through the park.”

“As if it weren’t already obvious that animals shouldn’t be confined next to roaring rollercoasters, the pattern of incompetence on display at Cedar Point makes it clear this ramshackle ‘petting zoo’ needs to go,” PETA Foundation Senior Director of Captive Wildlife Debbie Metzler stated. “PETA is calling on federal authorities to investigate and hold this exploitative operation accountable before another jailbreak leads to injured animals or visitors.”
