PHILADELPHIA, PA – Khumbie was diagnosed with cancer during his annual exam potentially affecting his liver, gallbladder, and abdominal lymph nodes. Zoo staff says they had to make the difficult decision to euthanize him.
Khumbie was 11 years old. Red pandas in the wild typically live between 8 to ten years. He had been at the zoo for more than ten years.
