The aviary will remain closed for the foreseeable future out of an abundance of caution.
The Zoo says visitors can still see the whooping cranes and the Humboldt penguins, who will not be removed from their habitats as breeding season approaches. The aviary was also closed for about a month over bird flu from February to March 2025.
