KNOXVILLE, TN – Einstein the 38-year-old parrot died from cancer on her syrinx which she had been fighting since 2023, according to the zoo. She was an African grey parrot.
The bird captured hearts across the world with her singing, skills and intelligence. At the age of 28, Einstein knew more than 300 sounds and words, plus 80 different cues. Over the course of her life, Einstein was featured in numerous public appearances; “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Pet Star,” CBS’ “The Early Show” and more, according to Knox News’ archives. She also auditioned for “America’s Got Talent” in June 2015.
