May 2, 2012 Oviedo, FL Two seperate reportings of monkey sightings have been reported. A woman called to report seeing the monkey in the downtown area, and a man called to report that he saw a monkey east of the downtown area. By the time the officers arrived, the monkey was gone. Investigators believe the animal has been roaming the city for a few days now. April 27, 2012 Pender County, NC In response to multiple bite reports, Pender County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control removed a pet monkey named Elvis from the home of Nancy Browning. The male macaque had reportedly bitten one of Browning’s neighbors for the second time in two months. According to officials, the animal had bitten the woman once before and her son twice. After the first incident, the macaque had been quarantined in the home for 30 days for observation. State authorities have stepped in and ordered the euthanization of the monkey and testing for rabies. Primates
April 25, 2012 Mer Rouge, LA A snake estimated to be around 7-feet long was spotted by a woman in Louisianna. The woman attempted to kill it with a tree branch, but it escaped. It was speculated that the snake was either a native species or an escaped python. Reptiles
