Born Free USA Activist Toolkit

Born Free USA’s Activist Toolkit

Welcome to the Born Free USA Activist Toolkit!

Here we share hints, tips, advice, and resources to support you in making positive change for animals. Our Guide to Campaigning (available in both text and audio/video format) will steer you through the steps to take when planning and delivering a new campaign, including information on different tools you can use to make your campaign a success. Our tip sheets elaborate on best practice for using those tools to best effect.

Our FAQ resources will provide you with the information you need to support your efforts in Born Free USA’s campaign areas: Animals in Entertainment, Exotic Pets, Zoos, Fur Farming, and Trapping, and our flyers on the same subjects can be distributed during in-person events or demonstrations.

In addition to the resources on this page, you can find all Born Free USA’s campaign publications here.

There are countless different ways in which you can advocate on the issues you care about and this Toolkit provides a broad overview to just some of the ways you make change, using methods and practices that Born Free USA has employed over the years. It is not an exhaustive guide, so we encourage you to use these resources as a starting point, while also exploring other approaches and methods.

Together, we can make huge changes to benefit animals and the environment, and we hope this toolkit will support you as you take your first steps into the world of campaigning. Good luck and thank you for all you do for animals!
