Summary:

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Humane Society of Huron Valley received an animal cruelty tip Friday, Aug. 29, regarding a traveling zoo in Plymouth, east of Ann Arbor, that led to the rescue of 126 animals. The rescued animals included 12 dogs, two cats, more than 20 horses and goats and a large assortment of various reptiles, amphibians and exotic insects. All the animals were found in poor health and are currently receiving veterinary treatment at the shelter, officials said.

The animals’ owner has a prior history of animal abuse and is currently wanted on two active cases. Animal cruelty investigators claim the owner failed to provide basic care for the animals while exploiting them as a traveling petting zoo. The woman has two ongoing felony animal cruelty cases and a warrant for failure to appear in court in Montmorency County Circuit Court, in northeast Michigan, records show.
