FLORENCE, SC – Alice the dog was caught in a trap without food or water for two days before she was finally rescued by Florence Animal Humane Society (FAHS) and animal control staff. When they examined Alice more closely, though, they realized that being trapped had been the least of her problems.
FAHS stated, “As we removed her from the trap, she was visibly injured and could not use one of her front legs. [Animal control] transported her to Florence Animal Hospital, where radiographs displayed that Alice had been shot in the leg, shattering the bone. Unfortunately, the leg could not be saved, and FAHS authorized surgery to remove the leg. Alice is in foster recovering and is now ready for a loving home!”
