MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Zoo says one of their Komodo dragons is expected to make a full recovery after ingesting a shoe that a patron threw into their exhibit on Thursday.
It was reported that a guest threw a red Croc up and over the glass barrier at the Komodo dragon exhibit. “Being curious, one of our Komodo dragons approached the shoe and ingested it,” zoo officials said. The large monitor lizard was rushed to the on-site animal hospital, where the shoe was removed from their stomach.
