Mere months after her first birthday, a baby gorilla at the San Francisco Zoo was crushed to death by a hydraulic door. Kabibe, or “little lady” in Swahili, was killed when she ran under the closing door as zoo staff moved animals to their night quarters. This tragedy is yet another reason why wildlife should remain in the wild.
