Piranha Farmers Biting Off More Than They Can Chew

Published 04/16/09

This is beyond belief. I don't know what the temperature tolerances are for piranhas, but I do know that fish can evolve rather quickly, and one can see still more catastrophe when, as is inevitable, piranhas escape to the environment.

Note the reference not only to cormorants, but every other species of bird that dares to eat fish.

We desperately need bans on import of exotic species that pose any risk of survival if they get loose.

We, as a species, really are our own worst enemy. It seems almost anything is acceptable if it earns a buck.
