'Mississippi Mac' Settles in at the Sanctuary
The monkey we temporarily are calling "Mississippi Mac," who in late January 2012 was rescued from horrendous conditions at a roadside zoo in Mississippi, a week later settles into his adjustment enclosure at the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary. Born Free USA is a leader in animal welfare and wildlife conservation with campaigns against animals in entertainment, exotic "pets," trapping and fur, and the wildlife trade. The Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary provides a safe, permanent home for more than 500 nonhuman primates, many of whom were rescued from abusive situations in research facilities, roadside zoos, or private possession. Our mission is to "Keep Wildlife in the Wild."
