Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary

Some people monkey around a little, some people monkey around a lot, and then there's Tim. He's a prince among primates, presiding over hundreds of fellow bipeds in the often-brutal Texas outdoors. There's no ape escape for Tim and his crew, but no matter. They love to help macaques, baboons and vervets live out their lives with as much freedom as possible. And like peeling a banana, Tim's blogs take you to the good stuff inside — with a steady supplement of Texas weather updates, of course!

Open Your Heart and “Adopt” a Primate

Published: 06/13/06

They were denied the natural life and freedom that they deserved. Then they were adopted and given a new start at the API Primate Sanctuary in Texas. Now you can help ensure their future by “adopting” one of them today!

Located in Dilley, Texas, the API Primate Sanctuary is home to more than 400 nonhuman primates — many of whom were rescued from abusive situations in laboratories, roadside zoos, and private possession — and gives them a second chance for a more natural life.

You can give our sanctuary residents the gift of a brighter tomorrow when you “adopt” one of them today. Your monthly or annual donation helps API provide food, care, and rehabilitation to these individuals.

You may choose to adopt a macaque, vervet, or baboon — each of whom has his or her own rescue story and comes with a Welcome Kit complete with full-color photo, certificate of adoption, and the semi-annual newsletter, The Primate Post.

Your adoption donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law, and we will provide you with a receipt for your records. To complete your adoption and to learn more about the Sanctuary and these wonderful animals, visit www.api4primates.org.
