Wish List
Help us now by purchasing items that start at only $1! (And please let us know what you've purchased, as Amazon does not tell us who has bought things on our wish list.)
While monetary gifts to Born Free USA are vital to our caring for the primates, donations of items found on the Sanctuary Wish List are welcomed and provide you with a tax deduction. These items will enable Born Free USA to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for primates residing at the sanctuary. If you wish to purchase an item for the sanctuary, have questions or seek more specific details about a particular item, please visit the sanctuary wish list site on Amazon, send an e-mail to primates@bornfreeusa.org, or call (830) 378-5775.

GPS units (Garmin, Magellan or similar) with worldwide application
Our director would benefit from a GPS when he patrols our 180-plus-acre site and, in particular, the 50-acre main enclosure.
-
1/2- or 3/4-inch sisal rope
Rope is needed to make swings and "ropeways" for the primates to play and exercise. (See a primate at play on a rope swing above.)
-
A small gas tiller
To help break up the soil so we can plant veggies for the monkeys.
-
Five water hoses; commercial-grade, 3/4-inch
We need the tough ones to withstand the south Texas climate!
-
Six leaf and garden rakes
We use these all of the time to clean enclosures and lock-out areas. (Here's one of our interns demonstrating correct rake use.)
-
Impact sprinklers
To keep the monkeys cool during the summer (and monkeys like the water!).
-
4-wheeler or ATV
To help us get around the property as some areas are difficult to check with a regular-sized vehicle.
-
Truck — a half-ton running pickup (preferably automatic) with working A/C
We need this truck to help us deliver thousands of pounds of produce and feed the monkeys each week.
