The Arizona legislature has launched an attack on the gravely endangered Mexican gray wolf that threatens to decimate its fragile population. Senator Gail Griffin (R-14) introduced a bill that widens the circumstances under which Mexican gray wolves, along with mountain lions and bears, may be killed. S.B. 1211 recently passed the state Senate, so we need you to contact your state representatives now so that this bill doesn’t make it through the House!
The United Nations has declared today as World Wildlife Day, coinciding with the signing of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in Washington, D.C. on March 3, 1973. Born Free USA has been a respected, active participant in CITES for more than a quarter century.
World Wildlife Day provides a strong opportunity for the global conservation community to speak with a unified voice and declare that there is no excuse for the indiscriminate killing, selling, or captivity of wild animals. Please join us in celebrating World Wildlife Day and help us continue to end these atrocities by making a donation today.
For the month of February, the company Owls and Friends has donated 20% of all sales to Born Free USA. Friday, February 28 is the last day to participate in this generous promotion, so be sure to check it out while the deal lasts!

Roadside zoos are notorious for being inhumane, unsafe, and poorly regulated. A recent report by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) proved that this is certainly true in Maryland, so legislators have introduced a bill to address these serious animal welfare and public safety concerns. We need you to speak up in support of S.B. 827/H.B. 1124 before their upcoming hearings!
