Tell Judge John Gleeson to throw the book at rhino horn trader Michael Slattery, Jr.!
In November, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that Michael Slattery, Jr., an Irish national and an alleged member of an organized criminal group, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy for violating the Lacey Act, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Slattery traveled throughout the U.S. acquiring black rhino horns to sell using falsified documents.
His hearing is scheduled for January 10, 2014 and the Judge needs to hear from you right away to impose the most strict penalty possible, hopefully deterring other rhino horn traders from engaging in this cruel commerce.
Warm wishes to you and yours this holiday season. Please join us as we remember our furred, feathered, and finned friends.
Thank you for your support and warmest wishes for the holidays.

Gray wolves are being cruelly slaughtered in Wisconsin, and soon, dogs may be forced to participate in the brutal hunt. Help prevent this abusive practice by contacting your state legislators AND Dane County Judge Peter Anderson today!
Judge Anderson issued a temporary injunction against the use of dogs in wolf hunts on August 31, after humane societies and environmental groups sued. This injunction will be lifted on December 20 – in only 3 short days! Please ask him to extend the injunction without delay by calling his office at 608-266-4937 or emailing the court clerk at email@example.com.
Additionally, tell your state senators that you support Senator Risser’s bill S.B. 93, which would end hounding permanently in the state. These state officials need to know that you won’t tolerate such a savage hunt in Wisconsin!
There is exciting progress in the fight to end the private ownership of primates in Michigan. Senator Rick Jones (R-24) has introduced S.B. 669 to make it unlawful to own, breed, or sell nonhuman primates as pets. We need your help to urge the Agriculture Committee to approve this bill!
The senators on the Agriculture Committee need to hear that this bill is crucial for public safety and animal welfare, and that their constituents care deeply about the issue. Please call or email these senators to tell them that both primates and humans in Michigan deserve this protection.
