API received an early holiday gift this year with the arrival of a number of copies of Tails of Devotion — A Look at the Bond between People and Their Pets. Produced by Emily Scott Pottruck, this beautifully photographed coffee-table book features pet lovers and their loved ones along with letters to them from their animal companions.

With a foreword by author Amy Tan, this collection of stories, photos, and letters includes contributions from California Attorney General–elect Jerry Brown, Grateful Dead musician Mickey Hart, Pro Football Hall of Fame member Ronnie Lott, comedian and actor Robin Williams, and many more.

Ms. Pottruck has graciously donated books to API for us to use in conjunction with our own year-end fundraising appeal, but you can also view and purchase the book on her website at www.tailsofdevotion.com. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale and auction of this book is being donated to a number of worthy animal-related organizations, including API. To date, sales have raised more than $100,000.
