Christian the Lion Lived In My Garden
A remarkable video documenting a reunion between a lion named Christian and two men who had cared for him early in his life has been making the rounds on the Internet and in the media and I wanted to share some additional information about this story because it is very personal to me and central to the being of Born Free USA united with Animal Protection Institute as an organization.
This lion used to live in my garden.

Purpose: This bill would amend the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 to strengthen polar bear conservation efforts. The MMPA established a moratorium on the import of marine mammals and marine mammal products, including the import of all sport-hunted marine mammal trophies. However, in 1994, the MMPA was modified to allow the import of sport-hunted trophies from Canada. H.R. 2327 would delete that provision.

Columbia, MO — Born Free USA, a national animal advocacy organization, today sent a letter to the Columbia city council calling on officials to ban the ownership of wild and exotic animals in the city. This request follows reports of a July 4th attack on a human by a primate — in this case, a Japanese Macaque, or snow monkey — being kept inappropriately as a pet. This is the second such attack in Columbia in less than a year.
