Location: Redmond, Oregon

Species: Dog
Trap Type: Leghold
Incident Date: Dec 07, 2011

Victim's Disposition: injured

Summary: A family out walking with their two dogs on public land near a river had one of them caught in a leg-hold trap. The dog was released from the trap with no permanent damage. They suspect their other dog had tripped another trap the day before while on a walk in the same location. Oregon Dept of Fish & Wildlife and State Police were contacted and although they conceded that the trap should not have been set so close to residential homes and the road, they were legal.
