Summary: Police are investigating a snake bite incident in which a 2-foot ball python entered an apartment and wrapped itself around the foot of a sleeping infant. The infant was taken to a hospital and released. The owner of the snake was identified and cited for not having a secure terrarium which enabled the snake to escape. The snake was turned over to the Coles County Animal Shelter.
