Summary: The Yerkes National Primate Research Center is searching for a missing 2-year old female rhesus monkey. The primate was discovered missing a week ago. Center administrators have notified Emory's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, the National Center for Research Resources, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Gwninett County Police. Update (7/6/2011): Officials from Yerkes Resarch Center now believe the monkey may be dead. Update (7/8/2011): Residents filed a formal nuisance complaint against Yerkes.
